FORSYTH COUNTY — Students from each of Forsyth County’s five public high schools have been chosen to participate in one of two groups involved with an upcoming Tony-style award ceremony for musical theater students throughout Georgia.
Twenty-four productions have been nominated for the 2015 Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards, otherwise known as the Shuler Hensley Awards. The program is named for Tony Award-winning actor Shuler Hensley, a Cobb County native. This year’s winners will be announced Thursday, Apr. 23 during an awards ceremony at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

Natalie Barrow was one of those “Glee” kids—the ones who sang and danced their way through high school. For the East Cobb native, the setting was Pebblebrook High, Cobb County’s performing arts magnet school where she trained before heading to Kennesaw State to earn a bachelor’s in theater and performance.

Now, seven years later, as a way to enhance its own identity, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Foundation has changed its name to the ArtsBridge Foundation.
