The Daughter of the Regiment presented by The Atlanta Opera
Action, romance, comedy, and enough high notes to fill the Swiss Alps are threaded through carefully selected highlights of Donizetti’s opera to create a Student Short, a fully-staged, abbreviated version of the mainstage opera production. Marie, a high-spirited tomboy was orphaned as a baby and raised by an entire French Army regiment. When new information about her identity surfaces, will she join society with a “proper” marriage or follow her heart back to the Regiment and her peasant class love?
