Name-Your-Own Shuler Scholarship
Every year, ArtsBridge Foundation awards over $11,000 in scholarships to high school students via the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards – Shuler Hensley Awards® program. Some scholarships provide financial assistance for higher education pursuits, while other scholarships provide in-kind theatrical training at acclaimed theaters and companies for skill enhancement. Now, more than ever, students need your help in the further pursuit of their goals.
You can offer help via a Shuler Scholarship!
You can pour into the life of a high school student with a scholarship gift and help them pursue college-level or professional arts! Even more, you can name the 2021 scholarship and (virtually) meet the students whose lives you are impacting! As an added benefit, should you choose, we will acknowledge your generosity in various marketing, PR, and the live-streamed awards show.
Define Scholarship Amount
Typically a scholarship is established in amounts of $500, $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000, but a scholarship can be any amount. Maybe you would like to establish a $100 scholarship for school supplies, or $250 towards books, or pay a full year’s tuition of $10,000! No matter the amount, all of it is helpful to students who are finding their way in the arts beyond their high school years!
Additionally, your determined scholarship amount can go to one or more students. For instance, if you decide on a $5,000 scholarship, it can go to two students at $2,500 each, or five students at $1,000 each, or one student at $5,000 – you get the picture.
Name Your Scholarship
What is meaningful to you? Who is meaningful to you? Honoring an important part of, or person in, your life is a great way to name a scholarship. Or, come up with a fun and unique name!
How to Establish
We make it simple! Visit our donation page, ArtsBridge Foundation (networkforgood.com), to make the payment online. Then send an email to jdobbs@artsbridgega.org with the donation amount, scholarship name, number of recipients, scholarship criteria (if any), and how you would like to be recognized in marketing (we will respect your right to privacy if you choose to be listed as “Anonymous”). Or, you can mail a check made out to “ArtsBridge Foundation” with “(year) Shuler Scholarship” in the memo line along with the above instructions, to: Jennifer D. Dobbs, Executive Director, ArtsBridge Foundation, 2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30339.
Attend a Meet & Greet
It’s not just about the giving, but the getting in return. We think it is important for students to meet the people who care enough to pour into their lives, and for donors to see whose lives and futures they have impacted. Scholarship donors and recipients will be invited to participate in a Meet & Greet (either virtually or in-person) to make a true connection. The Meet & Greet will occur the week of the Shuler Awards, and all donors and recipients will receive advance notification.

About the Shuler Scholarship Selection Process
Scholarship recipients participate in an objective application process. Interested students submit a complete application during a specified application period to our Acceptd system, wherein a nationally-recognized, best practice rubric rates and determines scholarship recipients. ArtsBridge staff conduct a final review to ensure alignment with specific scholarship criteria.
